Finally tonight, the first lady and take your child to work day.

This is the annual day set aside
to welcome young people to offices and workplaces across the country.

And today, about 180 children whose parents work at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue got to come along, and to have a question and answer session with the first lady.

" You, young man in the black. "

" What do you do in your free time when you're not busy? "

" Ooh, that doesn't happen often.
Um, well, right now I'm taking care of this puppy.
So, I'm doing a lot of dog walking and dog training and, you know, every now and then,
I have this thing that I like to do with some of my staff members.
And we sneak out without telling anybody and we go and test out all the fun places eat in D.C. "

" How is the garden growing and what's your favorite plant in the garden? "

"You know, so far, so good.
The section that I like best is the row of herbs that I personally planted,
and then there's a section from Thomas Jefferson's garden that I think is really cool
because we got some of the seedlings that were planted at Monticello. "

" Is there any time when the secret service is not with you? "

" There are times in the residence when there're not with me.
But anytime I go out anywhere, they're with me, All the time.
  But they're very nice."

" Do you like cooking for your family, even though you have cooks? "

" I don't miss cooking. I'm just fine with other people cooking.
  Their food's really good. "
